He
is energy. He is versatility. He is humour. Gamal
Omar Doyle is Skinny Fabulous. St. Vincent and the
Grenadines boasts a vast array of talents in field
of music, but none demonstrate quick wit and crowd
control quite like Skinny. He is a multifaceted ball
of entertainment with seven years experience in the
often thankless game. When you hear that booming
baritone echoing out in a dj-style, you already know
who it is. Don’t let the name fool you. Skinny’s
sound is unique, powerful and unmistakeable.
He is a self-taught songwriter and recording
artiste. He approaches every project intuitively,
challenging himself to deliver potent lyrics over
danceable tracks. His style defies definition,
somewhere between soca and dancehall is an artiste
willing to push the boundaries of Caribbean music.
As
an artiste, he has collaborated with top acts in the
Soca genre including Bunji Garlin, Fay-Ann Lyons,
Fireman Hooper, Kimberly Inniss and Peter Ram.
However, his career spans beyond the stage to the
studio as an on-air personality with St. Vincent’s
National Broadcasting Company. In pursuit of
excellence in broadcasting, Skinny recently
completed a diploma in media and communication for
radio at the University of the West Indies, Mona
Campus in Jamaica. Skinny is currently pursuing a
Bachelor's degree in multi-media. Raised as an only
child, Skinny is no stranger to taking time out to
developing himself. He has spent a year gearing up
for Vincy Mas 2008, and he's ready to make an impact
on carnival like never before.
